The Toyota RAV4 fifth generation (XA50) was launched in 2019 on Toyota’s TNGA-K platform and received a facelift in 2022, remaining in production through 2025. It is powered by the A25A-FXS 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder paired with a front-mounted traction motor and a separate rear electric motor, delivering a combined system output of 219 PS with AWD-i requiring no mechanical driveshaft between the axles. The Hybrid Synergy Drive manages seamless transitions between electric-only, petrol-only, and combined modes through a planetary eCVT, and regenerative braking recharges the compact NiMH battery pack automatically with no plug required. The interior received meaningful upgrades in the 2022 facelift including a larger 10.5-inch infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 ADAS suite as standard. Boot space is a generous 580 litres, seating is upright and airy, and the load floor is flat even with the hybrid battery housed beneath the rear seat. In Bangladesh the RAV4 Hybrid is available primarily as a reconditioned import, with some new units available through authorised dealers.
